I found these on my magnetic scrapper today and would like to know what they are. Inch long in total I would say and a pretty cool pattern

I appreciate the fast response! Thank you guys I was curious because I have astrea, cerith and nassarius snails so I figured it was one of them

You are certainly welcome! Minelay multiple eggs all the time but they never amount to anything.I assume they get eaten as they hatch

Yeah, most snails in our tanks hatch into pelagic (i.e. free swimming in the water column) larvae; these starve, get eaten, filtered out, killed by equipment, etc., so there usually aren't any survivors. Some species hatch either benthic larvae (basically mini adults that crawl around like normal snails) or - in some exceptional cases - both benthic and pelagic larvae.

Benthic larvae are way, way more likely to survive.
