Looks like its getting ready to spawn. It will release those eggs i to the column. If you have lunar cycle lights i find it happens most at full moon time.

Its rare but if you do some searching euphyllia do sexually reproduce during spawning events mine will go nightly for about a week and you can see the eggs like yours in between. Ive yet to see any offspring but keep my fingers crossed.

Hoping that's the case! I've found extreeemeely tiny heads budding from two of my other branching hammers (seems like they like to bud out of parts with lots of flesh), will post pics when the lights are back on. I only found out when I was poking around the tank with a blue flashlight at night to see if there are any pests/worms. Fingers crossed they are hammer eggs

. But if that's the case, wouldn't it be an extremely low chance that they would be fertilized and successfully attach to the substrate/grow?

Never heard of hammer eggs!! Much less hammer eggs in captivity!! How long have you had it for? Did you notice a spawning event? Do you have other hammers of the same species (like more indo branching hammers)?? I was thinking probably snail eggs of some kind when I first read the title but now I’m hoping for something a million times cooler!

This hammer was actually a new piece I got from my LFS last week. It has been there in a large system for about 7 months. Haven't noticed any spawning event. Was cleaning the tank today and saw them while inspecting all of the hammers.

I also thought they were snail eggs but it was inside the hammer.

Word pinkish spots on Hammers

Hey guys. I knot ice these weird pink spots on my hammer today. It’s odd it looks like it’s more inside the tentacles than on the outside. Are there eggs of pest in there?
