Hey everyone, I discovered some eggs (maybe tunicates?) on one of my paly's and am kind of concerned about what they are. They aren't laid in a spiral up the stock, but they are definitely all over one of my specimens. I always dip new corals in Bayer, but something must've gotten by me. I'm hoping that these are just some sort of snail eggs and not a zoa munching Nudi. If anyone recognizes them, please let me know. I pulled the frag out, but it looked like some of the eggs fell off into my zoa garden [emoji31], any and all advice welcome!!

Also, these polyps were as happy as could be, fully open when I noticed the eggs, so I don't think that anything is bothering them.... yet.

I could see it being tunicates, but maybe a type of colonial sea squirt? Are they squishy soft like a wet dish sponge or more like rubber like a car tire? Or gooey like snot?

I'll have to go home and squeeze one. I didn't think to do that! Stay tuned for update! [emoji16]

In the wild, here in Florida, I find that..

Tunicate = Spongey (Bursts easily)
Sea Squirt = Rubbery (Like hardening play-doh)
Encrusting Tunicate = Gooey (Just like a freshly blown nose in a tissue, yuck)

But thats just what I've come across / noticed. Not a by all means way to indicate what is what.

It does look like a local type of sea squirt though.. If it is simular, they'll stay about the tip of a pencil in size each but grow into a carpet.
