Eggs?

First time seeing these and haven’t added anything new to the tank for 4+ months. Appreciate any ID help.

I'm actually not sure what these are - I can tell you they're not eggs, as they're not uniform enough, and they form masses in some places rather than individual balls.

I do have an unidentified hermit crab that came with my TBS live rock 2.5 years ago. From a brief search it seems like crabs sort of spray their eggs which could explain the masses but doesn’t explain the non-uniformity of the balls.

Any chance you had some pellets spill or something? If not, I'm really not sure what these could be - I seriously doubt they'd be harmful though.

No pellets or anything I can think of, but if a good explanation hits me sometime, I’ll report back here.
