Unfortunate, but true... of most species that breed in our tanks. Successfully raising fry to adulthood is a major challenge.
One of the main reasons I quit keeping seahorses. Ok, I had GBD wipe out my herd... but the reason I never got more horses was the difficulty in rearing the offspring. I simply couldn't watch them starve... so I did my best. Successfully raised several broods before I lost the adults. Way, way too much work.
The good news is you're likely to never even see the hatched clowns... they're tiny, and if you've got a thriving reef system, chances of them starving to death are slim. They'll become prey in a hurry.
