Which return pump would be better for my setup? I've got a 60 gallon display + the external overflow and roughly 12-15 gallons in sump. These numbers don't reflect water displacement from the rock. I do have a manifold that the return will need to feed but currently isn't being used. So which pump would be better?

It depends how much you will be running off your manifold. You can always throttle down the 1262.

No question, 1262. You will have extra capacity for reactors and such. Like jaco said, you can always dial it back. $20 more for almost 300gph increase. No brainer!

The 1262 is a pressure-rated pump. It'll be the better for you if you're driving a manifold or have a few elbows/Tees/long return lines. You might check out the graph at Marine Depot's page.

Edit: The graph doesn't show up until you enter the pump's model # in the drop down list next to "Style." Then it'll be in the description.

I think the 1260 would be enough, I like to run about 3x the DT volume through the sump, so after headloss you are talking about 200 gph and the 1260 does about 650 gph at 0 ft of head while the 1262 does about 950 gph. When you valve back a pump you will reduce its power usage
