Woke up last week with my 40 breeder hovering at 72 degrees. I normally keep it at 78, and since starting the reef 6 months ago, never had a temp swing >1 degree.
I run two 100w eheim heaters on an inkbird controller.
Tested the heaters and the controller independently and double checked tank temps with different thermometers.
Turns out after 3 days of recalibration, both heaters are suddenly about 10 degrees off. I have to run them at 88 degrees, even after recalibrating them, to run the tank at 78 degrees. Any idea what the deal is? They are still under warranty, I was thinking about returning them and trying another set of heaters.
