I recently set up a small tank in my workshop that also has the house furnace in it so the temperature in the room fluctuates, it's a small room so temp swings happen quickly, like if I mistakenly leave the door open. In addition to heating control I needed to be able to turn on a fan over the tank when it gets too hot during the summer months. I bought this and so far the temp in the tank has been pretty stable for this room at 77.5 - 79.

They claim the temp sensor is water proof but I added some shrink tubing to make sure.

I just purchased an Inkbird temp controller to address this concern...I'm wondering what temp parameters I should set for alarm? I welcome your suggestions? TIA

Inkbird is low end. You want a real inline controller? You get Ranco or even better the Aqua Logic version of it with its titanium encapsulated probe
