i have two bare bottom quarantine tanks one for fish and one for coral ; they both have hang on back filters, of course debris ends up in the corners of the tank, i retrofitted a piece of tubing on the HOB filer and sucked up the corner debris ; worked pretty well although the HOB inlet was square and the tube was round so retrofitting was a challenge, "round peg square hole" it got me thinking though ,,,
there are very few products on the market for this, and i think it would be very useful. there is the "eheim quick vac pro automatic gravel cleaner" it just seems like there could be a better quality more substantial plug in model with adjustable siphon power, multiple attachments and very fine micron filters do we really need another model of protein skimmer model or more bells and whistles on a return pump ? or am i wrong? is this a useless idea? are their some really good products for this and im not finding them ?
i think it would be easy enough to retrofit a small canister filter for this , but again why doesn't this product already exist? thanks Carl (Boston)
