I got this guy yesterday knowing he had what I believe to be popeye.
I did a freshwater dip on him last night, he is eating.
I dosed Kanaplex yesterday and will dose again Saturday.
How many doses of Kanaplex should I make?
Should I and/or can I dose API General Cure along with the Kanaplex?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Wow! I'm sorry I can't be much help but he looks rough, would be awesome if you can turn him around

Thanks, I'm going to do my best. The LFS has had him for at least a month

Something you can try - epsom salt. USP grade, no additives. (Although in this guy's case, antibiotics may be called for - as mentioned, he does look like he's been through it.)

Single-sided pop-eye is often due to injury, and the epsom salt (it's magnesium sulfate, pretty safe to use) can help to soothe.

Use one tablespoon per five gallons. If no improvement in 3-4 days, you can dose again one time.

~Bruce, hoping he makes it, because mimic tangs are cool

Thanks for the info. Can I dose the epsom salt along with the antibiotics?

Unfortunately I just lost this guy. After treating with antibiotics he quit eating. He was extremely thin and floating around so I decided to pull him out of the tank. It was a tough decision, but I have never seen a fish come back from that bad of a state.

Sorry for your loss :(

Yep it sucked. I thought I'd be able to get him better. Not sure if it was a water quality issue or infection that caused him to decline.
