Eienna's 50g Reef

You need to just empty your mind and keep it simple! Water changes & feedings. That's it :)

I know, but with the fibromyalgia sometimes my mind memory-dumps without permission....I get so derpy it's not even funny. I do stupid stuff like dropping the food lid in the tank instead of the food.

We all do stupid things sometimes. There's not a week that goes by that I don't say to myself, "Why'd I do that?, I know better." You need to ease up on yourself. I know how depression can sneak up on you - don't let it happen. I think nanareefers advise is strong "feed and water changes", really is all that's necessary.

Thank you, Mike.
And everyone. I appreciate it a lot. :')

The landlord just totally shocked me by offering to help pay for new fish. O.O and here I was thinking he was barely tolerating it.

Y'all are gonna kill me but I fell for a couple of teeny tiny occy clown babies >.< Blame it on being a girl, I guess...but anyway...they were only $6 each and I couldn't resist. They're ravenous eaters from what I saw in the store and seem perfectly healthy (locally bred, even) so here's hoping. They won't add much to the bioload, at least. I'll just keep up with diligent water changes and I PROMISE this is it for a while!!!

Pics when I'm not in a moving car.

You're incorrigible! :fear:

I'm sorry.... ;_;
I only went to the store to help mom get rid of her mean molly fish...and maybe buy a snail or two...I'm staying out of the stores for a while to avoid any more of that.

On the upside, they're already eating...

Hah. Little dudes are powerhead-surfing. Swimming up against it as far as they can go, and then letting it carry them backwards. I swear these fish are the fastest to settle in that I've ever had.

I checked params before I let them in. Temp's where I keep it. Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are all zero (API master kit). Phosphate's up a bit but I'll be managing that with water changes.

EDIT: Okay, forget not going in. I'm not going NEAR one for a while. I got my frozen foods from mom's so I'll be good for a while.

Proud mama showing off her babies. Let's see how these babies do for a few weeks.

Yup. These guys are it for at least 30 days, if not more - I'm realizing just how shoddy my QT is, so any new additions will have to wait not only until the tank is ready but also until the QT is solid and safe. :)

They're still doing fine this morning. Ate their breakfast of frozen rotifers like good little fishies n.n

I'm doubting myself.
After everything that's happened...I'm scared I'm gonna kill these little cuties too. It stinks.

I wake up in the mornings with a knot in my gut, almost expecting the baby clowns to be dead. This is no way to live.

Yes, but...those nems...you know they're there. It's the invisible threats that are making it difficult to sleep.

aweeeees there so cute! :)

hope all goes well !

They totally are. Probably the body mass of a nickel between them, haha. And they're so fearless! There are plenty of places to hide but those two little adventurers are all over the tank!

Love the clowns!

The smallest one scared me to death this morning when I went to check on them first thing...I couldn't find him for a good five minutes or so and I was praying the whole time for him not to be dead. ;_; Turns out he's fine but that was hard to deal with. I was fighting back tears by the time he finally emerged.

I'm starting to feel better about the little guys. They're still very active and bold and eating great. When the lights are on tomorrow I'll get a video. ♡

Okay :) here's the video ♡

I'm sad to report, however, that the goni is starting to bleach and the acan doesn't look good at all. I know my phosphates are too high but there just isn't anything I can do to get it down and keep it down right now. ;_; I suspect I'll have to try corals again later, when the setup is older.
