Just from Hemet to Menifee...same area.

It's just the sheer physical work that's gonna kill me.

Well, I can't take so many tanks...and since mom's 2" green spotted puffer is the only one in his tank (his last tankmate started attacking him the other day and was summarily dumped at the store) I'm taking a calculated risk and trying him in my reef. He may well eat my cleanup crew, but we love him so much I feel it's worth a shot (and the 30-40 $ it'll take to replace my inverts.)

I put him in this afternoon and so far he hasn't hurt anything. Time will tell.

I don't blame you for dreading it. I am finding as I get older things that didn't use to bother me, like relocating, are overwhelming to think about. I will pray that you get lots of help. If I didn't live in PA I would be over.

So far, Kirby has not bothered my inverts.

Considering that these green-spotted puffers are pretty much obligate hunters of things with shells in the wild, I expect he will decide to make a meal of my crew at some point, but (for now at least) I can keep him. Yay!! I need to post some photos of the little guy...my very first saltwater fish. They're classified as brackish, but they start out freshwater and need to be slowly acclimated to brackish water or their life will be seriously shortened (4 years full fresh, versus about 12 years if salt-acclimated.) They can be acclimated to full marine conditions once they go brackish, and while not everyone does it, I've heard it's the best for them. So I did...and so he became my first marine fish. I will hate it if and when he has to go or kicks the bucket.

B-bloody u-u-unicorns @-@ I hurt sooooo bad!!!

I think I overdid it today...but I was doing okay until I bent over to clean a wound my hubby got and my lower back seized up so bad I would've screamed if I had any less self-control. This is just great. How am I supposed to pack now?!

Sorry to hear about your back. I know you only have a certain amount of time but you probably should rest it and take antiinflammatory medicine if you can. I will pray that you can find that balance between what must be done and taking it easy for your back's sake.

I appreciate it, and I'm trying :/ maybe I can manage a visit to the chiropractor...never fails to make me feel better.

The moon brain has deflated over the last day or two...I cleaned some rock and then let it soak in the FO tank for a bit, and then put it back in the reef, but I'm thinking I brought too much of the FO water (which is NOT reef-suitable) with the rockwork, because the coral deflated shortly after that. Doing some extra water changes now...it hurts but I gotta care for my critters!!
It crosses my mind that it may finally be reacting to the rather high phosphate. My available course of treatment is the same for that too, though.
