Electric Blue-leg Hermit Crab Anyone?

Free to a good home. I had to ban him to the dungeon (sump) for his crimes against many snails....He is a confirmed snail killer! Must come get him after 5 or 6pm tonight when I'll be home from work.....

I would love him but he kills snails? Yikes.

I'm pretty sure he has killed a couple of my snails for their shells.... maybe it's my fault for not providing him with enough extra shells! :-/
I bet he would be one happy crab in your tank Mel! Let me know if you want him...

I doubt if needing a shell had much to do with it. Hermits kill snails to eat.

Honestly, I think most hermits will kill snails. I don't think it's specific to this species. It really seems like crabs in general are mainly opportunists.

FWIW, I have three hermits (forget the names.. not blue legs or red legs) and they don't mess with my snails. I keep them fed and provide them shells. I think that sometimes people expect too much of crabs.
I'd take him off your hands if I had my upgrade over with. Good luck finding him a home :smile:
