I'm thinking of building a wooded box out side my stand with doors on it for my collection of plug strips and wiring. Has anyone every done anything like this and if so any pics? The stand is so jammed it a royal pain working in it. I was thinking of the electrical box mad of wood. Would there be any electrical hazards inclosing plug strips and my Reefkeeper in a wooden box?

No problem putting all your electrical stuff in a cabinet.

In anticipation of doing the same, I’ve mounted mine on a piece of plywood to get a sense on how I’m going to fit it all in a cabinet. Here is the mounting on plywood only:

There you go I was thinking something along the same lines. Not enough room in my stand.. Thanks for sharing.

I did this same thing. I made a matching cabinet for each end of the stand - built to match. Same stain, found the same hardware and used the same construction style.

Electronics, ballasts, power strips, UPS & backup air pumps in one cabinet and calcium reactor & CO2 tank in the other.

Definitely freed up a ton of space in my stand!
