If it is a new circuit I would make it a 20 amp dedicated circuit strictly for the reef and gfci protected.
I use an existing 15A gfci protected outlet for some of my equipment and a 20A gfci circuit I installed strictly for the reef as my primary source of power.
Pumps and wavemakers are split between the two so if one or the other trips I still have some circulation in the system. It's only happened once or twice during storms but it's nice to have redundancy.
For the dedicated 20 amp curcuit you use 12awg 2 wire romax. But I assume you would have a licensed electrician installing this and they would be supplying the wire and everything needed to install the circuit anyways. The using two seperate circuits as AZ mentioned for circulation is great advice. Never thought of that thanks for sharing@AZDesertRat I will be doing this on my 80 build.
just tell him you want a dedicated 20 amp circuit with a Gfci outlet then. As far as 2 thats up to you. Not sure how big of a system you are running but you can always figure up total amps of all the equipment you are running on your tank and go from there. I personally try to only load a circuit at 85% of total rated amps.
