Yes it is depending on the current load of the circuit.
Take an amp meter (clip style) and check the amperage.
If it is minimal then you can add a receptacle on it.
Actually it doesn't matter what the electrical draw is on the existing wires. The code for residential does not specify a limit for number of receptacles on a circuit. That said, it would be wise to not overload it. This is not a hard project to do yourself but if you are uncomfortable then of course hire someone. Probably will cost around $100.
