Hi all,

My equipment will be plugging into outlets behind the stand. They are currently GFCI.

I was considering putting plastic waterproof "in-use" covers over them, but didn't know if that's overkill?

Something like this - https://thd.co/2OleWGU

Obviously in an ideal setup, all the water stays in the tank - ;) - but with the talk of salt creep and water changes and such, I wondered if it was worth doing?

Thanks,
J

I bought silicone plug gaskets from Amazon for mine because they don't take up space

Link? Can’t seem to visualize what you mean by gasket (I know what a gasket is), and how this would protect the outlet.

Plus- I need a solution for the back up outlets in my fishroom.

Cheers

Yes if you are going all out they sell "WR" rated GFCI outlets designed for wet locations and then use an "in-use" cover and you will be as protected as possible.
