Elegance coral and palythoas

I picked up an awesome deal on an elegance coral. I know they are aggressive species and I am hoping it will help control my yellow palythoa population (which is getting impossible to clear unless I want to replace lots of rocks)

if I place the elegance near the palys, would the paly fight back? Or would the elegance do as I hope and eliminate some palys?

Funny, I just did this. The palythoas will not bother the elegance coral. It takes a while for them to actually shrink down though from proximity. Palys are super rugged.

Have you tried kalk paste for the palys?
