Hi all

Ive had my elegance for about 4 months now and it has been fine, showing signs of growth and eatting fine but for the past week it has been either closed up, or partly open but not full. Any ideas?

Water specs
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Phosphate 0
KH 9
Calcium 380
Temp 26C

Do you spot feed it? I would skip a water change to allow some nitrates to build up as corals do need nitrates. But of course, there could be something else causing the coral to be closed up.

Yeah im teying to get my phosphates higher aswell

Yeah but only once a week, i might start every other day to see if it gets any better

Do you have any fish in the tank? You need to up your nutrients. Your tank sounds too clean.

For phosphates and nitrates, are you running anything like chaeto, GFO, nopox, etc.

Completely off the grid but my elegance coral was closing up and I had no idea whY. Went to pick it up and found a family of small bristle worms underneath. Cleaned those guys up and a few days later the coral was opening up again. Think maybe the worms were irritating the tissue or something. Just my experience once.
