It's been not doing well for sometime now and it got detached from its base just 2 days ago.

Should I just throw it out or keep it?

Try getting one of those little glass plant cups with the suction cups on the side. Put the bailed out polyp inside and stick it to the glass of your aquarium. I once rescued a lobo that way. It takes some time but once the polyp starts to secrete skeleton then you can glue it to a frag disk.

I put it into the sump and it's expanded a bit now. What if I just leave it there?

It looks much better now in the sump. Was feeding some pellets as well.

Should I leave it just there ? I have macro algae in the sump as well. So it will slowly grow the skeleton from just the flesh ?

LPS Bailout is hit and miss, sometimes the corals recovers, often they don't. From the pics it looks okay in the sump, if it were me I'd leave it there (assuming the lighting is sufficient). I'd also try to find the cause of the bailout, I had a simular experience with an Elegance, Emerald crab irriated the polyp to the pint of bailout. It didn't recover. Best of luck, I love elegance, favorite LPS by far.

It wasn't opening well in DT for quite some time I don't know why - maybe lighting is not enough. But it got detached only after me adding a Singapore angel. And I saw him nipping at this elegance so guess that was it.

Good thing now is in the sump, it opens more than it used to in the DT. Hopefully it starts growing skeleton there.

Never known an elegance to want more light. Mine closes up at any direct light.
