Elegance coral dying, time to toss?

I bought this Aussie elegance from unique corals, but for the past couple weeks it has been looking like this. Occasionally it tries to inflate, but it doesn't last. I can see its guts spilling out.

Very disappointed as it only lasted a few weeks. Is this the infamous elegance coral syndrome? I have it in a shaded area with low-moderate flow. When I first got it it opened up completely in the same spot.

I'm getting get brown slime in my tank, should I just throw it away or is there anything I can do?

If it’s guts are out I would get it out of there.

I doubt it's a problem with their corals. Mine looks great and was probably in the same water as yours. You could try filling a container with a little sand and a bubbler and put it in there to give it a last chance while not risking your tank You could also try an iodine dip.

The brown slime was getting really bad-and a few days after removing the elegance it all cleared up
