So i bought this beautiful elegance coral and it looked fine for about a week and then over night it basically stopped opening. It's been 5 days like this now. Idk what could possibly be wrong.

It went from left to right overnight. Nothing in the tank to bother it. Parameters are stable. I've also lost a bunch of hammers the same way. And a bubble coral a month ago. Everything else in the tank looks good though

What are parameters? I know fine but what numbers are fine?

Any swings?

How old is tank?

What par are they all at?

You say other corals are dying aswell....have you checked anywhere for rust?

Did you acclimate it and do you know what PAR lighting you have.

I had one do that just after purchase, but opened up a week later.

Had an ATI ICP test done less than a month ago where nothing stood out of the ordinary aside from the usual like low iodine and such. Tank is 2 y.o. 40B with 2 prime 16hds. SPS and clam doing fine. The other corals I've lost in the same manner but over a few months time. I had a 60 head hammer that is now down to just 4 over the course of 6 months or so. The bubble coral died the same way (but a pearl bubble i got at the same time from the same place is doing perfectly). A 2 head torch same thing. Within a week. All at different times. Never overlapping

Also had another elegance die the same way about 4 months ago. They simply shrink up over the course of a few days and then slowly waste away.

This one opened up the same day. Did fine for a week, and now it refuses to open fully again. No i don't know the par. No par Meter unfortunately and i can't afford one.

Your tank parameters do look great. I personally believe your Mg is a little high, but I don't think it would create any issues with the LPS. What fish do you have in your tank? I think something is bothering the coral that you are not aware. Could there be some pest maybe?

So sorry to hear this....

Could be bacterial, but no way to really know.

Do any of the euphyllia brown jelly or just melt away?

Do you have any starfish? I had a starfish eat all the tentacles off my elegance and it looked like that.

One clownfish, a baby tomini, yellow Cori's and a flasher wrasse. That's it.
