I bought a new elegance coral 2 days ago at my lfs. At the store it didn’t look that great the guy said it was because they lost power for a few hours and their lights were off so it wasn’t fully opened when I was at the store. He is a pretty trustworthy guy so I believed him. It’s been 2 days in my tank and it hasn’t fully opened. I did notice some white mucus on it close to it’s mouths. All of my levels are good all my other corals are happy and fluffy. 1.025 salinity nitrate is 6 and phosphate .07 calcium alk and mag are all good as well. I’m wondering if I got an elegance with the disease they can sometimes or it’s just acclimating to my tank? It’s in medium to low light and medium flow

Way too early to tell. Give it some time. Keep it below 100 par until it adjusts. Typical bad sign is completely retracted tentacles and swollen disc. I agree with the dip.

What size tank and what lighting?

How old is your tank?
Make sure it gets significant flow and light.
Parameters are fine but their stability is more important
Do not make any drastic changes
When and if it opens up (when lights are on) try to feed it with a small chank of mussel or fish. IME they like to eat!

Could never get this coral past 6-8 months.
Same with Helio-Fungia (Long Tenticle Plate) 6-12 months, however Fungia I’ve kept for many years and still going.
