Elegance coral mesenterial filaments

We have had this guy for almost 2 years now. It's by far the largest coral in the tank, it of course outstings everything and has some long reach because of its size. However tonight I saw a first, what appears to be mesenterial filaments. I'm not sure why the aggression as most things are way beyond its reach. I have an acan colony that does it quite often but never seen it with elegances.

I think coral aggression if often triggered by the chemicals these organisms give off/sense, not just touch; one reason I run carbon is to try to reduce these chemical signals. Beautiful specimen and as you know elegances have a reputation for being aggressive.

Did yours always have long tentacles from the beginning? Mine looks like a bubble tip anemone. It’s very healthy and spreads out 4 times the size of it’s skeleton but it looks more like a giant duncan than an elegance coral.
