How does everyone's elegance die? I've read an article about ECS and think my lil fella may have it. She's puffy, tentacles are retracted and a mucous looking film coming off the back half. I'm open to suggestions. Lol. And I can't upload a pic right now because tapatalk is not working :/

That sounded like what was happening to mine before it died.

I don't want to Jinx it but I bought an Aussie Purple tipped elegance about 13 months ago. It's done fantastic. It's very moody and from day to day its size can vary by as much as 50%. I haven't figured out what makes it expand more. It hasn't grown too much in the past year. But it's alive and looks great. When fully expanded its about the size of basketball.

I have it in the least flow area of the tank, and in a front corner. A friend thinks it's doing well cause I let the detritus collect in that corner.

Yeah. Mines a pink tipped. Minimal flow. I have a problem algae corner. Maybe I'll move her. Ugh.

I think I may disagree to an extent. I had one the was going great. Then, got another (different source, but both Aussie) and they both then died. I assume the second one brought it and transferred it to my existing killed that as well. In my situation there was no other logical factors to cause its death.

I have been trying elegance on and off for several years now. First couple were beautiful indos... all died. Tried 2 Aussies and they also died. Finally got a TINY 40$ aussie one, it started to die as well. Got to the point where there was maybe an m&m size peice of tissue left. I just left it alone and now its back and thriving. Baseball sized and growing FAST.

We got ours 1/5/13 & it started looking kinda bad last month, thinking maybe it was still adjusting. It looks like it may recover and get big again, the tentacles are longer now and not so dark purple. For a few weeks the tentacles got really small and it sorta shrink up, hopefully now it'll stay open and regain its prettu pink color. Not sure if it's an aussie or indo though.

Well, it's still puffy and tentacles not opening. I was told it was puffy because of air trapped inside. Told to pin price it in a couple of places then dip it. Going to give that a try. Wish me luck.

No good. My elegance has become my first coral casualty. Super bummed. Was looking at pics and man, she was a beauty.
