Elegance coral worry

Did this happen when you added the cyano remover? I added Ultra life slime remover to one of my tanks, and my mushroom corals all shrank. They were the size of a dinner plate. 3 of them split.Still not happy 4 weeks later.
No the treatment was about 3 weeks ago. The elegance on closed up three days ago.

Any fish start picking at it? What do you feed it?.I feed mine a small 1/8 to 1/4in piece of raw shrimp every 3 days or so.Mine closes up every so often, but opens in a couple of days.

Yippee! It’s started to open up again.
Thanks for getting me through this folks.

I don’t think fish are nipping at it. They swim close but past it. I feed some frozen food now and again.

Based on the conical shape it appears to be a wild indo piece. This piece can be hard to keep even for a long term reefer. I asked if it was fragged since this generally means that it has been cut from a larger more established piece. The indo pieces are collected from a deeper depth and take much longer to get used to regular tank lights. I asked if you just recently did a water change since they tend to be very sensitive to even the slightest change in salinity
Sorry but totally untrue. Shape has no bearing in where in the world it was collected.

Conical shape, collected from the sandbed. If it's cut, it just means it was growing on the reef structure as opposed to growing in the sand. Both varieties can be collected all over the worlds oceans.

Kind of like a wall hammer, or branching hammer. Same coral, just different growth structures.

I’ve had mine for about 20 years. It’s been through a lot. In the past, before I put in a AWC, mine would close when I needed a water change. It would always come back after that. I agree to double check salinity as well.
