Bought this elegance from a reefer here. He's been in my QT for about 3 weeks. Today I notice this white mucus or dead flesh? on it. Reminds me of when my torches got brown jelly disease. Is my elegance a goner? Anything I can do? He is in an invert/coral only QT. No nitrates since I'm not feeding anything.

The mucus was on the back part of the elegance. I can't tell if it's currently retracted or just disintegrated back there. I actually think most of the back has disintegrated.

Look like an infection. Major tissue recession as well since much of the skeleton is exposed. Would look to do a H2O2 and iodine dip and get it into someplace with better water quality.

I'm debating if I should just move him into my DT but I will try the dip first. Thank you.

Potentially, yes. I'd dip and try to nurse it back to health in your QT. Would check your parameters in the QT. You will need to have some nitrates and phosphates otherwise the coral will starve to death which may be what's happening.,

Yes I have a problem of no nitrates. I try and dose nitrates but I'm not very consistent.
