My tank is 2 years old and I have had no issues with elegances until recently.
Tank params: 250l tank mixed reef, alk 10.5 pH 8.0 calc 430 nitrates 30ppm salinity 1.025 temp 25-26C about 100 par on the sand bed where they are
Did a 30% water change last week (normally 10% weekly)
All recent changes:
Started 2 part and vinegar dosing about 3 months ago which monitored fine
A month ago I changed from manual dosing to a dosing pump for all 3, again checked quantities and monitored fine
Three weeks ago I wormed the tank with prazipro and left it in for 2 weeks before water change and adding carbon to the tank, that was a week ago
I noticed my main elegance starting to not really fluff up about 10 days ago. Other corals also looked unhappy. It improved to about 60% of normal after the water change and the rest of the corals look okay.
I also picked up a new elegance on the weekend and that has not been overly happy, right now it's fully receded. First time I've ever seen one grumpy in the tank.
I've tried giving them both a little feed and popped a little reef roids in the tank as well.
The parameters all seem pretty usual for my tank (nitrates are greatly improved from carbon dosing and slowly decreasing over time)
I'm scratching my head! I will do doing some more water changes, but if anyone has suggestions I'm all ears.
