Would two weeks of elevated calcium negatively impact fish? How about longer? Any scientific articles on the subject? Thanks.

I’m acting childish. But really. My filefish is acting depressed. Or something. I threw in some PraziPro yesterday and am thinking about a water change tonight. If it’s not too detrimental then I can leave it alone. Otherwise my wrasse is just fine. I’m beginning to think my filefish is a fickle moody guy.

When you say elevated- what sort of levels are we talking about here?

It’s probably testing error, and the fish is acting off for other reasons: stress, illness, medication side effects, oxygen, etc.

High calcium shouldn’t hurt fish.

I’ve had CA over 600 with no problems with fish. Some of the corals didn’t like it though.
