My blood has elevated eosinophils (not high, just slightly above normal), which my doctor has run test for, to see what allergy/parasite/etc my body may be fighting. All tests come up negative, so for years nobody has had a clue. I'm wondering if it may have to do with reefing, i.e. touching water containing bacteria, parasites, etc? Or maybe breathing seawater fumes every day? Does anybody have any experience with this, or any thoughts on the subject?

That's going to be above pay grade for most of us on a fish tank message board...although there might be a physician or two lurking here.

Are you feeling sick? Showing any symptoms?

Counts for specific types of white blood cells might not tell you much on there own, without some more info.

You'd be surprised how few doctors know anything about the topic. They just know how to order tests and say 'welp, that wasn't it, lets run another test'. It's been years, and they have no clue. Conversely I'm sure more than a few reefers get blood tests, and may have seen results with eosinophils above normal. Then again, there is no sickness or symptoms, so many probably just ignore it.

I would check for stuff like mold around your fish tank area. Moisture and humidity from fish tank in homes may cause mold in the carpet, walls, wood floors, etc?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
