Hey all - got my Triton ICP test back today and it shows elevated levels of tin (see link below - 8.48 micrograms/liter). Question is - if it's only showing increased levels of tin, and no other metals, then could it still be something rusting, or would other metals show elevated as well if rust was present? Just trying to narrow down my possible sources before I dig around the whole tank for culprits. My tank is about 10 months old, and I do have about 2 feet of vinyl PVC tubing (Item #203062 from bulkreefsupply.com)

Thanks in advance for any help. ICP results: https://www.triton-lab.de/en/showroom/aquarium/auswertung-b/icp-oes/91868/

Interesting. I feed only PE Mysis shrimp; two cubes daily in my 165g tank. Could that cause elevated tin?
Possibly, if the mysis blended in tin coated blades, or storage tanks, refrigeration equipment used to freeze it? then packed.....

Do you have starfire glass?
There was a thread awhile ago where they stated if the starfire glass was reversed, on the inside instead of the outside they had high tin readings because tin is used in the coating on the starfire side.
I will see if I can fimd it.

Thanks 90s Reefer. I have a Red Sea Reefer 625xxl - not sure if that has Starfire glass?

Not sure either. Do a search here to find the thread.
Where is the rust comming from?
An exposed hose clamp might be the cause if it is rusted.
Use stainless steel only.

I havent found any rust yet... But before I start taking my tank apart, I'm wondering if I can rule out rust due to the fact that my ICP test only shows high tin - all other metals are 0. If rust would show other elevated metal readings besides just tin, I can rule out rust and look elsewhere, such as PVC or glass
