Elevating skimmer

I have an Akula UKS 200 skimmer (yea it's big) and I am thinking I may need to elevate it in the sump to get optimum skimming. What sort of 'stand' do people use to do this? Just trying to get ideas in case I need to.

Anything plastic will really work, although several companies do make skimmer stands.

I made a simple stand using egg crate and cable ties. Been running that way for a few years.

Most stable I have found is marble or granite tiles. Should be able to get some free or next to nothing at local counter/tile store. Raised my skimmer 2” with two 8x8x1 pieces. Tried egg create in the past but was never as stable as I wanted.

I bought a piece of acrylic on Amazon. I only needed to raise mine an inch.

Sheet of pexi-glass and pvc legs. Use zip ties and drill holes in legs and pexi-glass to attach. Very simple.

piece of egg crate...4 pieces of 3/4 pvc...saw an X across the top so it sticks onto the eggcrate

it’s actually a nice frag rack, nice acrylic. You can also vary the height. The standard height is perfect for my sump, but it is adjustable.
You can do it cheaper or diy, but now I have a nice frag rack if/when I upgrade.
