Elimi-NP Bacto Balance question

I am currently dosing elimi np. Neither phosphate or nitrate were dropping using the max dose which for my 200g is about 4ml. I had to increase my dosage to 8ml a day before seeing a drop in either. 1st question why such a limited dose? Is there something in it that will cause harm at some point? Next question what would you recommend for carbon dosing that doesn’t add trace elements. My phosphates are. Below .1 which dictates switching to bacto balance but I don’t want the trace elements. I dose trace individually as needed using reef moonshine. Is there a tm product that you would recommend?

My guess on the max dose is because bacteria uses up oxygen, too much bacteria would reduce the available oxygen for the fish.

Can’t help with the other question apart from regular carbon dosing using vodka etc
