Eliminating Blue Clove Polyps with Fenbendazole

So far, it has been about 3 weeks since my last treatment.
I am optimistic. No signs of those pesky buggers. The few inverts that were left in the tank during the treatment are still there and doing well. They are out at nights and i can still see pods running around at nights. The corals all took the treatment well. Nothing obvious to report. I did loose one colony of red dragon acro to RTN, but i do not think it was related to the treatment as all my other acros are doing ok.x
I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I just did a treatment on my tank for 72hrs all I can say is wow the polyps are all gone. Right now it's all gone the hermits are eating the remains. The second pic was taken 48 hrs after treatment. No coral had any problems at all

Great, what concentration of drug did you use? Lets hope they do not return. My first treatment, they returned after about 3 weeks

I had a lot blue clove Polyp in my 225 gallons tank and I've been following this interesting posts about how to eliminate the polyp. So last week I pulled the trigger and put the bendazole in my tank, 250 mg, turned off the skimmer, UV and pull the carbon media. I Put back all the equipment after 72 hrs and I started to do 40 gallons of water change every other day. Total water change 120 gallons.
I took pictures of the progress.

So far the blue Polyp is gone

Looks great My blue clove has not returned. But I did notice the hermits were eating where the blue clove was

Mine did returned, but i have the small purple clove and those seems to be a bit harder to get rid of

I'm going to use this for GSP. Any long term success getting rid of GSP? Also, does it affect serpent stars or cleaner shrimp? I just put a boatload of Mexican turbos in a few days ago though...

The problem is, they are on multiple rock and I cannot remove all of them.

Well this seems to be working against GSP at about 1.5 mg dosage. The reaction was like clockwork, so I hope they stay away.

But it looks like you have a resilient strain of polyps of some sort. I hope they don’t come back for me, but your experience is troubling.

Perhaps the best method is to just use a brush and scrape the GSP off if its that small..........

Curious - they will no (IME) kill other coral - more likely the other way around - they might spread - but trying to kill off small pockets without taking out the rock is going to cause more problems than taking the rock out and tossing it - and buying new - imho

I chickened out. They were on top of a huge centerpiece rock. Since I'm upgrading to a larger tank I removed the rock and hammered away the top where the GSP had spread. I still may experiment with the chunk broken off because there were Zoas mixed in.
