Read the directions thoroughly. I have the same test kit. The easiest way for me to explain it is for you to follow the instructions step by step. I promise it gets easier. Just do a dry run without actually using any of the testing materials to get the feel for the steps. Welcome to testing for mg.
it is like running two tests and subtract the difference and mutiply by 50
1st part add 3ml of water and then add drops(part A) until water truns green ( should be in between 25-35 drops) (example number is 31drops)
2nd part 3ml of water, 5 drops part B, 1 scoop of powder(part C), mix and then add Part D drops until color change to blue. (example number 5drops)
RESULTS 31drops - 5drops = 26(50) =1300ppm (MAG)

when you say 2nd part 3ml of water, 5 drops part b. Do you get another 3ml of water or use the original 3ml of water?
Correct... you are running two separate tests and comparing the difference. Elos are some of the best on the market and I have never had a problem with them. It's not overly complicated, just take your time.

Maybe I'm nuts but Elos is my fav mag test kit. If the store is out of stock, I just wait till they get them in. I always thought the other ones were a pain. Maybe I haven't tried the right one.
