Elos MIDI Pool60

A few more....

Messy tank, just picked up more corals, and I might need to re-aqua scape!

And a few more of the new corals.....

And finally my 1 lonely, but very colorful damsel.

A quick update of the AI Prime:

Pros:

I am really enjoying this light, and most importantly, the corals have done great reacting to the light also. The few SPS in the tank now are a Pink Stylo and a Green Porcillapora. Both are looking great and keeping nice color. The LPS that are in the tank range from a couple goniporas to a couple plate corals, a few chalices, a meteor shower, monti and a favia. They are all absolutely loving the light they are all fully inflated and show great color. Finally, which to me is the most important are my zoanthids. I have always been a believer in halide/T5 for zoanthids for best growth and coloration. But the zoathids really seem to like the AI Prime's spectrum. So far the growth has been great, and the zoanthids are always open. The zoathids all look happy. There aren't any "reaching" for the light, and lot's of babies are steadily popping out.

Also, the app is great! I love how simple and responisive the app is. I have yet to have any issues using the app. No crashes, no weird unexplained issues, it just simply works as it should.

Finally, for everyone with a rimless aquarium, nothing is better than a light with a tiny foot print. Its never in the way, looks super clean and simple, and give you lots of room to be able to see top down in your aquarium. And even with the tiny foot print, it puts out a ton of light!

Cons:

I tried hard to think of some things that i don't like about the light, but the light just works perfectly for my setup. My Elos is just the perfect size for this light. The only thing I might complain about, which would be simple for them to add to the App is: In the Control portion of the app, I wish they would give you an option to use Auto/Manual/Preset. Auto works great for everyday use, manual works great to play around and see what all the spectrums look like, but I'd like to be able to have a few saved presets that i could simply click on and have the light go to those settings. Right now, you have to click on Manual and change every color spectrum to where you want it.

Any questions about the light, let me know!

Attended a local swap meet today, and came home with a few gems to add to the collection. These pics were taken in straight sunlight with iPhone.

Here is a quick shot of these guys all opened up. Will get better pictures tomorrow!

A few more....

This first one is the best shot of the 5th zoa I picked up on Saturday. Still need an ID on it, but it's got a ton of potential! It's the one right above the VDMs.

This one I got from a local reefer. It's the WWC Jingle Bells

These in the center are another new frag. WWC Blue Eyed Girls

Anyone currently or previously have experience using a Pacific Sun Kore 5th dosing unit? They have $100 off all the dosing packages currently through the summer and I am really considering taking advantage of the sale price! Reasons I am looking at the Kore 5th is for these reasons:
1. Auto top off. I currently do this manually since my MIDI only goes through maybe a gallon per week. But since my current setup is such a small water volume and salinity is easily fluctuating, I really need to get one. I had intentions of picking up an Elos ATO but since I have not yet picked one up and this one has it built in, it would save me 200.00.
2. Automated Water Change. This would be huge for me! Again, stability in any reef is imperative for best results, and this would help out a ton! I am really bad at doing water changes, so I try to do 5g water changes once a month at least. Id really like to do 1g water changes daily, and with this unit, you can customize as little or as much as youd like. The unit utilizes DC pumps to perform the water changes, or you could use 2 of the 5 heads to perform even smaller water changes.
3. 5 dosing channels. I currently do this manually also, and again I am terrible at doing this consistently. I dont know that I would need 5 channels, but it would allow me to dose different foods along with my regular dosing.
4. Software. The software looks great! I have heard some grumbling early on with the software, but as of late, it sounds like everything has been cleared up and working as advertised.
5. Customer Service. I have heard nothing but great things about their customer service. Any and all problems/questions seem to be solved/answered promptly.
6. Finally, I currently do not run a skimmer. My bio load is very, very small as far as fish are concerned. Nutrient export and nuisance algae has not been any sort of an issue either. Although I do feed my corals, and plan to up my feeding eventually, a skimmer would be added sometime down the road. I used live rock from an established reef, and did have a little die off in the beginning, but water changes took care of that. But I do believe the consistent water changes via the AWC unit would help this tremendously, and like I said a skimmer would need to be added eventually.
7. Finally the overall piece of mind of having a single unit maintain all of these things weekly/daily and only spending a fraction of the cost almost makes this a no brainer!

Thoughts? Experience?

Anyone have any idea where I might get some super flexible 3/4" ID silicone hose? I picked up some of that Rubber hose from Menards, but it kinks really easy and is not very flexible.

I'm glad to hear you're having good success with the prime, I'll be running two over my 40g Cad, the only gripe I had with the thing is that I would like an interface on the app where once I select a point I can then enter the values manually on a table. It irritates me that I can't get different colors to line up on my curve. I also like your suggestion of having the ability to save several different presets. I could see why that would be useful.

Love your setup. It's looking great!

I had a similar logic with my dosing choices, and selected Neptune's DOS system, I will definitely be adding a second down the road for automated water changes, that whole idea is very attractive. Seems to me it would be less stressful on the tank, with the ability to do daily changes of say 5g a day. Who wouldn't want that on a smaller system!?

I think I may have found a silicone tubing for you,

What device are you using to control the app? I have an iPhone6, Mini iPad, and an iPad. It's much easier to use the graph on the iPad I think. I know exactly what your saying about getting it to line up in my phone. Also, the lunar function I don't use. I think I need to do a little more research on it. I just run my deep blues at 1-2% over night.
The DOS seems to be a really nice unit! Unfortunately a controller is not in my immediate future.
Thanks for the suggestions on the tubing and the compliments on the set up!
