Elos sump suggestions

Setting up my new Elos Midi 36g and not sure what to do with these front two chambers of the sump. I haven't been able to come across and good reference material on these Elos sumps, seems others online makeshift their own for most part. The left chamber putput has a valve that can be used to adjust flow rate which also affects right chambers flow rate.

I'm thinking maybe use left for chemical filtration (i.e. Carbon) and right chamber I place some rock rubble? I'd love to do something for phosphate control, but I think due to small size of chambers natural removal such as chaeto are out of question?

When I ran my Elos mini I ran bio media in one of the sections, siporax is what I used but any work well. And like you said the left hand side would be good for carbon or GFO in a bag. You could always try growing cheato in one and see how it goes.
