We bought this coral on 11.5.17. Few days later in the very early morning (it was still dark out) I came across this critter. I don’t always see it but when I do I try to take a picture, however they don’t turn out very good. Any idea what it could possibly be? It lives in the coral and has yet find a new home in the tank.
Thanks!

Difficult to tell from the pics what species. Does it have little catcher's mitt-like frilly appendages that it waves around? If so, it's a red porcelain (anemone) crab, which is a good one to have. They will take up residence in an anemone if one is available. If it doesn't then I'm not sure what species.

KJ may well be right at the family level (KJ's very good at this game!) but it's a big family. Some of these guys stay small, and are fun to have around without being much trouble, others get pretty big, and ... well ... crabby.

(Inserts tongue into cheek) Based on the markings on this fellow, I'd be more than a little tempted to call him "Alvin".

If she's sticking to the same coral I'm tempted to think she might have a symbiotic relationship. Could turn out to be a very cool hitchhiker.
