Hey guys just wondering as my emarald seems to be going rougue and becoming the kingpin of my tank what type of seaweed can I give him to supplement his diet orinaly got him for green hair but nearly all gone and he keeps going for my chalk goby I would take him out but he is my kids favourite and I don't have a sump to put him in can I buy seaweed from food store? Or is it specific type?

I find mine scavenge everything from pellets to shrimp and even algae. I have seaweed I bought from a lfs but they don't seem to eager to go for it. They'll eat it if they find it. I tend to overfeed a bit just so they have food to find.

Are yours pretty active? I see mine like once a week it feels like. And if I try to spot feed they run

Yeah he/she is very active goes back and forth all the time he seems to wait till my goby goes in his cave then follow him in and wait on the outside to to swipe at the goby

This is what I use, I rubberband it to a rock and just drop it in 20190527_140945.jpg 20190527_140945.jpg

Haha not sure I got it maybe one more time [emoji12] thanks for the response will have a look in the lfs shop in the morning

Mine were pigs. Absolute pigs! I’d spot feed them daily and as soon as anything resembling food was brought near their area they appeared out of nowhere and lunged at it. Frozen. Can’t go wrong

Were pigs? Where are they now? I'm considering trying to catch mine if possible but like I said I barely see them. Worried they'll catch someone, thought they had gotten my scooter but found him behind the tank. They probably scared him

Yes. Were. They unfortunately passed in an equipment failure situation :(

If you can find where they are, you can just lift the rock up a bit, place it in a Tupperware while still submerged, and pull the Tupperware out. No need to grab em and yank em out of water. Easy peazy :)

Just get frozen raw shrimp in a bag.... cut a hunk and toss in every once in awhile. I do this for my puffer, but ultimately they sink, and the crabs come out in force

Yeah, you have to see their tummy to determine sex. My wife says gravid females are the yummiest. Also, you can buy unflavored sheets of roasted Nori to feed them at your local Asian market or Asian section of the supermarket instead of the hobby stuff if you don't have access to it. The hobby stuff is sold at Petco or online of course.
