Emarley’s Fluval M40

Hello fellow reefers,

I’m now coming up to 6 months into the hobby and never got round to setting up a build thread so now I’m going to start a build/journal.
Originally, 6 months ago I set up a fluval evo 13.5, nice tank, but not the tank I wanted...However 2 months later, Father’s Day here in the UK, I was greeted with the tank I originally wanted, a Fluval M40 and stand (thank you kids and wife )
So over the next day set up the M40 and moved everything over from the evo.

Going to keep this intro short but update on a regular basis...

Here’s currently what I have...

Today is weekly water tests, here’s my readings,

Temp 78.3
Salinity 1.025
pH 8.15
Alk 8
Nitrate 5
Phosphate 0.03
Calcium 425
Magnesium 1275

My results have been really stable for the last two months

Decided to upgrade my wave maker today so picked up a Jecod SW 2. Never had a problem with the Hydor but wanted something controllable, first impressions are good plus it takes up less room in the tank.
