Well not my biggest move my tank's. Im going to be moving to NJ this weekend. Yep thats right NJ! Ive only got a 29g Biocube plus 2 empty 72 bows but they are empty (For now).
Originally I was thinking just empty out the rear chambers, bring down all the rock to the sandbed and bring down the water level about 3/4 of the way. Now im thinking about taking out all the inhabitants (7 fish and Rock with corals) and putting them all in a cooler. Its much lighter and insulated. When I arrive (A 2hr drive max in traffic) add 10 gallons of fresh SW and the remainder fill with water from the cooler.
What do you guys think about my plan? Also do i need an airstone in the cooler even though its a relatively short trip and the stop and go traffic would give it some water movement. Oh and ive got two 5 gallon buckets that will have the prepared water can i just add the fish into that with out harming them and still use it for the water change upon arrival?

Open to suggestions!

Well I did it yesterday. Emptied out about ten gallons, took out the rock with coral attached mostly softies and kept the fish in. About 3 hrs after had it set up at the new place. When I got to the new place all the fish looked pale and sluggish. My Royal Gramma was just laying on a rock perfectly still. I set everything up, redid the rock work. And in the morning everything came back to life. Success!!!

Glad it was a success!! How about some pics?? :)
