Emerald crab compatibility - clam foot

Does anyone have experiences with emerald crabs eating clam feet?

For some reason an emerald crab or two are burrowing under my squamosa clam on the sand to get under by its foot. Do they eat clam feet? The foot is not on a rock and is direct on the sand...
