Emerald crab hugs or eats acan?

So I get some emerald crabs, and come home (lights are off) and he's hugging his arms around one of the outside heads of my acan Z_z. I didn't think it looked like he was eating it, but I'm not sure. Is this common behavior?

I've never had one eat a coral or seen one do it either. They will climb all over corals and pick algae off of the plugs or skeletons.

Never trust a crab lol. But on a serious note it is not unheard of for these guys to munch on coral.

Yea... this morning I woke up to half of my green zoas gone. I ripped that crab out of my rock work sooooo fast and threw him in the sump to live out the remainder of his days. Not to self- crabs suck

I have had a emeral crab eat a whole frag plug of Dragon eye Zoa's woke up to the last quarter remaining on the plug and he went off to my prison (sump) for life there was about ten polyps he was like I didn't put him in the electric chair

I managed to rip off a few limbs getting him out of the rock work... No mercy lol. I had been growin out those zoas for a few months now id say, prolly threw me back a month

people need to stop selling these as "reef safe"

I knew that there was a risk; just didn't think itd happen on the second day I bought it
