Hey all, just fed my tank and found one of my emerald crabs nipping at my duncan... he pinched off a piece of tentacle so it wasnt going for algae. crab has been removed and will be re-homed. Should i try and get the remainder of crabs out of the tank? theres 4 more in there but impossible to find as they stay in the rock crevices.

Did you see them sharing a secret claw shake, passing coded notes? Maybe they stopped talking when you got near the tank? Can't trust a crab.

All kidding aside... emerald crabs can be beneficial but can also start munching away. They're omnivores and opportunistic eaters when primary food runs out they move on. Not all start out eating coral and you can try feeding them. Keep an eye on them and remove when they break the reef rules.
