So I got two of these guys for my 70 gal mixed reef tank - I got them to eat bubble algae and GHA . So far that’s what they’ve done but now I see where some people have problems with them. Any advice ? I have some nice zoas, should I be worried

Personally I never have had a problem with emerald crabs bothering corals. ive Probably had 6-7 of them over the years.

Yes they eat zoas. I have 2 that now live in my fuge after zoa decapitations then being caught in the act. Also, they were crazy strong and almost impossible to pull off the rock they were holding onto.

:( that’s what I’m afraid of, hope that doesn’t happen caus they are eating my bubble algae like it’s ice cream

Not everybody has issues with them. It might be more of an issue if they dont have as much to eat or just depends on the crab.

Personally never had them eat my zoas, although I've heard that it happens. Mine has plentiful other food sources though and seems to leave my corals alone. I will say though, that he is a complete ******* to my fire shrimp and my hermit crabs. I'm thinking about banishing him to another tank soon.

I have four of them and they have not gone after my Zoas.
They pretty much spend all day just plucking any Algae they can find off the rocks.

Sounds like I’ll keep my fingers crossed and keep an eye for for any mischievous activity
