Emerald crab

Where the hell is this guy! I haven't seen it in over a month. Last time I saw it I tried to feed him some seaweed and it didn't take it. He loves the stuff! I thought maybe he was in the process of molting and he'd be gone a bit but this is getting ridiculous. There is nothing in my tank that would be aggressive to it unless he was vulnerable when and if he was molting. I don't see any indication of nothing from the crab. No dead body, no skin, no nothing. This guy was fairly large too.

Emeralds are great at hiding and blending in, in the past 5 years I’ve had tons of EC come and go. The last batch we got over a year ago, 2 have died and one is still roaming the tank.

Do you have a picture of your tank? How often do you monitor your tank at night? Typically catch my emerald moving around the tank in low light. Do you have other cleaners in your tank? Hermits?

I've checked in low light, turned on the moon lights and no sign. Took a few pieces of rock out to clean and still no sign. I also have hermits yes along with snails, tiger cowrie and tuxedo urchin. I probably monitor my tank too much! It's only a 40 gal so I'm not sure where this guy is. Actually had two and the first one disappeared just after i put this latest one in but that was maybe 5 months ago.
