OK ..the last week i had both my emerald crabs die..Whats up with that,both had about a year..I know they couldnt of starved since i feed them algea strips like every other day....anyone have any ideas...I also did chemiclean last week but all my hermits are still alive...
 
They can die in molt. Are your Calcium, ALK in line? I know dumb question, but ya know we gotta ask it.

nitrates were at 40 but did a 30 g water change and amazinly it dropped to 10 dont know how with that little water change but ill take it..

It's still possible they starved - they eat a lot, and proportionately more as they grow.

The ChemiClean and the phat water change could have done it if they had recently molted.

By that token, those same two things could have triggered a molt. Any chance you just found molts and they are still hiding/recovering?
