So I bought a frogspawn LPS coral from my LFS and it was doing great in my Nano aquarium. I noticed recently that it was getting pinched at by an emerald crab in my tank. When i tried to catch the crab he scurried off but i noticed the damage was already done. 2 "tentacles"/arms from my coral got pinched off and it has completely receded back into its skeletal formation. My question is that if I get the emerald out of the aquarium will the frogspawn recover and if so how long could that take?

So the flesh should heal up in a couple of days once the crab is gone. If you are still not seeing polyp extension after a few days I would give it a dip in a coral dip, preferably one that has an iodine base.

Thanks for the reply! I will do that, could you recommend a dip that I can use. All I have is coral RX and it says on the back it contains no iodine.

So emerald crab bad with corals? Would coral placement make a difference??

Some emeralds are okay, some go rogue. As with peppermint shrimp.

Doesn't matter where you place your euphyllia, they might decide it's dinner time and destroy them.
