Pulled the plug on the loop return pump to broadcast feed (the app sucks so I just pull the plug) after the food dispersed I pulled the power plugs on 2 of 3 loop wave pumps to allow the corals to eat. Plugged the wave pumps back in and then the return pump. Return pump started, then... lost suction?... so I unplugged checked around... plugged back in. Same thing. Won't stay running. It's 750pm. Kids need tucked in soon and my r/p won't run. Lovely. No choice but to clean it. More cheato than I prefer, gonna have to do something about that. But now it's clean. Of course it didn't want to go back together right, and the tank temp was rising quickly as its really hot outside, even though the house has central air and it's nice in here, so weird. So i plug the pump back in, it's still doing it. Won't stay running. Thank goodness I used painters tape and labeled my pumps. I was plugging a wave pump power supply into the return pump. Not enough juice to keep the return pump running. I only tell this story because I spent a frantic 2 hours figuring out what was wrong with my return pump. Label ur wires folks. If mine weren't labeled. I'd be either without a pump all night or driving to knock on my coral guys door hoping he has a spare.
