Emergency!!!Brand New Tank Leak

This is so crazy that you are not going to believe it, I had an electrical fire tonight due to my new tank leaking. The tank I am speaking of is a Fluval Spec 5 bought last December. I was standing in the kitchen tonight and smelled something burning, five seconds later I heard zapping. My electrical outlet was on fire. Luckily I was able to put it out without it having done any damage, a little bit of black residue on my power strip. Anyway, the weird part about this is that the tank itself was not leaking, just the area where the filter pad goes and the powerhead. Both wells were draining daily, but, there was no wetness showing until today. I have been in talks with Hagen/Fluval over the last several days. I hope that I will be getting my money back, I would like to know if any of you have any suggestions in order to get my monies back. Luckily I had a HOB
